Ob dein Kind körperliche Veränderungen möchte, hängt davon weniger ab. Vielleicht will es keine, nur ganz wenige, oder ganz viele. Versuch besser, dir darüber erst mal keine Gedanken zu machen. Das ist mit 11 sowieso noch lange nicht dran.
Mit 11 ist noch viel Zeit – sofern du deinem Kind die Möglichkeit gibst, diese Zeit auch zu nutzen. Es ist nämlich so: ein:e Endokrinolog:in verschreibt Kindern keine Hormone (was fast immer der erste Schritt der körperlichen Transition ist), sondern immer erst mal Hormonblocker. Die verzögern die Pubertät und lassen mehr Zeit, Dinge zu entscheiden. Wenn dein Kind viel Angst vor der Pubertät hat, wäre es gut, sich darum zu kümmern. Vielleicht will dein Kind die Haare kurz schneiden und andere Kleidung ausprobieren. Und dann könnt ihr drüber reden, wie sich das angefühlt hat. Wenn dein Kind das möchte, könnte es das nun bei den Freund:innen ausprobieren …
Sollte sich das alles gar nicht so falsch anfühlen, kann es hilfreich sein, sich bei einem lokalen Verein zu melden. Alle Treffen sind aktuell online. Da kann dein Kind mit anderen reden, die ähnliche Erfahrungen machen.
Ich finde es wichtig, deinem Kind nicht die Entscheidungen abzunehmen, ob es körperlich transitionieren will. Ich finde es auch wichtig, ihm klar zu machen, das es nicht nur Mann und Frau gibt, und dass es nicht alle körperlichen Veränderungen machen muss, um ein Mann zu sein (ich mache nicht alle – ehrlich gesagt eher wenige). Mal einen anderen Namen und Pronomen (ich meine er/ihm) zu verwenden, das schadet nicht und lässt sich sehr leicht rückgängig machen. Hormonblocker genauso. Denkt zusammen drüber nach. Lass dich von deinem Kind leiten.
Ich finde es vor allem anderen erst mal wichtig, die Motivation deines Kindes für diese Aussage herauszubekommen.
Geht es ihr schon länger so? Ist es auch der Körper oder nur das Verhalten, das sie zu dem Wunsch bringt? Usw.
Ich denke nicht, dass du irgendwas über den Zaun brechen musst. Ein offenes Ohr ist als allererstes am wichtigsten.
Es gibt nämlich wirklich viele Wege, die ab jetzt möglich sind. In ihrem Alter befindet sich deine Tochter mitten in der Identitätsentwicklung. Und ob sie letztlich als hetero- oder homosexuelle Frau, als unoperierter oder operierter Transmann oder wie auch immer lebt, das wird sich weisen. Ich verstehe, dass in der derzeitigen Situation ein weiteres Thema, das als schwierig empfunden wird, eine weitere Belastung ist. Wichtig empfinde ich, das eigene Kind zu unterstützen in seiner/ihrer Situation. Denn auch schon das Outing ist ein großer Schritt und ja auch ein Vertrauensbeweis an die Eltern.
In meinem Freundes- und Bekanntenkreis – ich lebe in einer Regenbogenfamilie mit zwei Kindern – habe ich schon Geschlechtsangleichungen begleitet. Immer waren es erwachsene Menschen, doch ging oft ein langer Leidensweg voraus. Weil die Person sich nicht annehmen konnte, einem gesellschaftlich anerkannten Bild entsprechen wollte, oder lange nicht verstanden hat, was eigentlich los ist. Daher ist es doch gut, wenn ein Kind schon früh merkt, dass trans* ein Thema bei ihm/ihr ist und die Auseinandersetzung damit zu einem guten Verhältnis zum eigenen Körper führt. Wie auch immer dieser dann später aussieht.
Eine geschlechtliche Transition kann sehr individuell sein, mit medizinischen Eingriffen oder ohne oder wenigen. Möglicherweise werden die Grenzen der Geschlechter auch irrelevant.
Für Eltern, die sich mit dem Thema trans+ noch nicht beschäftigt haben, ist es sicher ein großer Brocken. Auch meine Eltern mussten sich an mein lesbisch sein gewöhnen, auch wenn sie keine negative Einstellung haben. Es war einfach nicht ihre Lebensrealität und das muss man auch allen Eltern zugestehen, denke ich. Es ist für alle ein Lernprozess.

Gar nichts. In meiner Kindheit gingen zwei Mädchen in dem Alter so weit, sich Jungsnamen zu geben, mit denen man sie ansprechen musste. Optisch sahen sie eh aus wie Jungs. Reaktion des Umfelds: Alle haben sie mit den Jungsnamen angeredet, Thema beendet. Auch diese Phase war nach etwa zwei Jahren vorbei. Heute sind beide Frauen verheiratet, heterosexuell, und haben je zwei erwachsene Kinder. Glück gehabt. Wären sie heute Kinder gewesen, hätte man sie wohl zu OPs gedrängt.

Ich würde den Wunsch meiner Tochter auch ernst nehmen und hinterfragen, wie sie darauf kommt. Derzeit ist für alle eine äußerst diffizile Zeit, in der so einiges auf die Psyche drückt. Vielleicht liegt das Problem auch darin.
Jedenfalls würde ich nach einigen offenen Gesprächen mit meiner Tochter einen darauf spezialisierten Psychologen konsultieren und sollte der Wunsch weitergehen oder konkreter werden, mit Vereinen, etc Kontakt aufzunehmen.
Ich verstehe sehr gut, dass die Situation für dich nicht leicht ist, deine Kraft derzeit eigentlich nicht darauf gerichtet ist, du fünf Kinder hast, was ich sehr bewundere, aber es ist trotzdem ein Wimpernschlag.

Liebe Maya, erst mal will ich sagen, wie supermäßig ich es finde, dass Deine Große sich nach Lust und Laune austoben darf mit Aktivitäten, die leider immer noch viel zu oft als „typisch für Jungs“ bzw „mädchen-untypisch“ betrachtet werden. Ich frage mich, merkt Maya vielleicht so langsam, dass (nicht Du aber) ihr sonstiges Umfeld (auch und gerade Fernsehen, Internet aber womöglich auch wohlmeinende Freunde/Verwandte) ihr sozusagen leise einflüstert: „Was Du super findest, bedeutet, dass Du kein RICHTIGES Mädchen sondern VOM WESEN HER ein Junge bist“. Hat sie vielleicht Angst, in der Schule/im Freundeskreis unangenehm aufzufallen? Befürchtet sie vielleicht, dass sie ihren Lieblingsaktivitäten nicht weiterhin hemmungslos nachgehen kann bzw dass sie das nur kann, wenn sie ihren Körper verändert? Mein Rat wäre, dass Du, Deine Familie und Dein Freundeskreis ihr immer wieder signalisiert, dass Mädchen zwar einen anderen Körper als Jungs haben, dass das aber nicht im geringsten bedeutet, dass dieser Körper irgendwie „verkehrt“ sein könnte. Im Gegenteil ist es ja wirklich sogar äußerst gefährlich, einen gesunden Körper medikamentös oder gar chirurgisch zu verändern. Das Ergebnis von sogenannten „Geschlechtsumwandlungen“ ist eine lebenslange Abhängigkeit von Hormonpillen. Die Gefahr, die Fruchtbarkeit und auch die sexuelle Empfindungsfähigkeit unumkehrbar zu verlieren, frühzeitig an Osteoporose zu erkranken und mit chronischen Schmerzen zu leben, ist leider enorm groß, d.h. das eigentliche Ziel, eine größere Zufriedenheit herzustellen, wird dadurch wahrscheinlich gar nicht erreicht! Die Frage ist doch, was GENAU will Deine Tochter? Will sie wirklich einen Körper, der SO ÄHNLICH aussieht, wie der eines Jungen? (100% lässt sich das ohnehin nicht erreichen). Oder ist es nicht eher so, dass sie (weiterhin) so sein möchte wie sie ist und Dinge tun möchte, von denen sie leider immer mehr den Eindruck (vermittelt) bekommt, die seien als Junge leichter zu tun.
Ich hoffe, sie genießt gemeinsam mit Euch und all ihren Kumpels und Kumpelinen noch viele viele Jahre mit Fußball, (Toben, Werkeln, Bäumeklettern?), etc, gekleidet in ultrabequemen nicht-pinken Klamotten als cooles, aktives, gesundes, selbstbewußstes und unabhängiges Mädchen (später Frau), die sich nicht darum schert, was Mädchen und Frauen angeblich tun oder mögen sollen.

ich bin so eine Mutter mit der gleichen Frage vor 3 Jahren gewesen.
Meine Tochter hat es mir mit 12 gesagt, und danach kamen drei harte Jahren.
Mein Tochter verlangte nach Brustbinder, Pubertätsblockern, soziale Transition, Namensänderung in der Schule und zu Hause…
Meine Antwort darauf war: ich kann nichts zustimmen, was deinem Körper schadet. Kein Alkohol, kein Tabak, kein Brustbinder, keine Hormonenblocker.
Ich habe ihr die Tür auf gelassen für den Fall sie wird es anders überlegen und will zurück kommen. Ich habe mit ihr über Detrans-Frauen gelesen (das sind Frauen, die mal einen Übergang/Körperanpassung zum männlichen Körper) gemacht haben und nach ein paar Jahren zurück gekehrt sind. Eine schwedische Doku „Trans Train“ bei youtube geschaut… Unzählige Diskussionen über Frauenlage in der Gesellschaft geführt, feministische Bücher gelesen.
Nach 3 Jahren weißt sie, dass sie kein Mann ist oder werden kann.
Es waren harte 3 Jahren – aber meiner Tochter ist ein schlimmer Fehler erspart geblieben.
Sei bitte vorsichtig und helfe deiner Tochter.

Darf ich dich fragen, war deine Tochter immer schon burschikos (Kleidung, Frisur, Interessen) und ist sie jetzt „fraulicher“ nach der Pubertät?

Die Zeitschrift Emma hat in der Nummer 1 /20 ein Dossier zu Transsexualität herausgebracht. Sehr empfehlenswert, weil sehr unterschiedliche Aspekte beleuchtet werden.
Die Perspektive, was an dem Dossier alles kritisiert wird, sollte dann aber mitbedacht werden um ein möglichst vollständiges Bild zu bekommen. Und das ist einiges.

Die Tochter einer Bekannten möchte gerne ein Junge sein und ist auf dem Weg dorthin. Als meiner Bekannten klar wurde, dass ihre Tochter das ernst meint und sich auch im falschen Körper fühlt, ging sie als erstes mit ihr zum Kinderarzt, um das Problem zu besprechen. Dort wurden sie weitergeleitet. Es gibt spezialisierte Psychologen, bei dem Mädchen wurde hormonell die Pubertät verhindert, damit sie keine weiblichen Geschlechtesmerkmale entwickelt usw. Jetzt lebt er auch in der Schule (10. Klasse) als Junge, samt Namenswechsel.
Das ist gerade bei jungen Kindern ein sehr, sehr langer Prozess, den Eltern unmöglich alleine begleiten können. Mit vielen Fachgesprächen wird auch ausgelotet, ob der Jugendliche diesen Wunsch ernst meint und verfolgt und er erhält alle Unterstützung und die Familie auch.
Meine Bekannte hat nun zwei Söhne und unterstützt ihren Sohn voll und ganz, hat aber auch hart zu knabbern, weil alles natürlich nicht einfach ist. Wichtig ist: Holt euch fachmännische Hilfe, steht zu eurem Kind, der Rest muss sich entwickeln. So oder so.
Bitte wende dich an geeignete Stellen, hier im Internet gibt es zu viel halbwahres Wissen, persönliche Einstellungen und Meinungen.
Wir kennen deine Situation und die deiner Tochter nicht.
Wichtig finde ich, dass du ihren Wunsch ernst nehmen solltest und das Gesagte erstmal annehmen. Dir wurden schon geeignete Stellen genannt, wende dich bitte an Fachleute, die sich mit dem Thema auskennen! Damit ersparst du dir und deinem Kind womöglich viel Leid.
Und du kannst stolz sein, dass sich dein Kind schon so früh traut dich ins Vertrauen zu ziehen. Das ist wirklich wertvoll!
